To All Genuine Children of God
It is essential to seek God's wisdom when choosing a life partner. Just because someone is currently born again and living godly does not necessarily mean they are the right choice for marriage.
Have you considered the realities of backsliding and apostasy? These occurrences are real, and they should be taken into account when selecting a life partner.
A person may appear godly today—full of passion for the things of God and on fire for the Lord—but tomorrow they'll abandon their faith in Christ and embrace another god.
Remember the parable of the seed sown on rocky ground: "The one on whom seed was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and at once welcomes it with joy; yet he has no [substantial] root in himself, but is only temporary, and when pressure or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he stumbles and falls away [abandoning the One who is the source of salvation]" (Matthew 13:20-21).
This illustrates that not everyone who seems to be in Christ today will remain steadfast tomorrow. This is why it’s crucial to avoid making a carnal decision about whom to marry without seeking the wisdom of God.
You need God to lead you to someone who will not only stay committed to Him, but will also grow in fervor and zeal for Him over the years—whether that be 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, or even 40 years down the line.
Do not rush into choosing a life partner. Allow God to guide you through His Spirit. When you follow His leading, you will avoid mistakes.
Deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit, nurture your fellowship and friendship with Him so that He can order your steps to the right man or woman. When He provides guidance regarding whom to marry, be sure to listen and obey—for your own benefit.
Furthermore, take your relationship with God seriously, and He will lead you to His son or daughter who is equally committed to Him. And when you ask God for a spouse, ask Him for someone who'll worship and serve God with you forever.
You will not marry someone who will turn away from Christ tomorrow, in Jesus' Name.
Shalom🤎
