Lust seeks pleasure, love seeks the person.
Love wants the soul, lust wants the body.
Love is about benefiting another, often at your own expense. True love strives to uplift the other person, even if it means facing personal disadvantages.
In contrast, lust prioritizes self-gratification, often at the expense of the other person. Love, however, focuses on the well-being of the other, even if it requires sacrifice.
Love embodies commitment. It is the promise made to another, enduring even when it may lead to personal inconveniences or cost you dearly.
Love is considerate, thoughtful, and selfless. If someone truly loves you, they'll be willing to inconvenience themselves for your benefit. If they cannot make sacrifices for you, their love may not be genuine. A person cannot claim to love you while consistently prioritizing their own interests and comfort.
Love is patient. When you love someone, you demonstrate patience and the ability to endure challenges with/for them.
Love is generous. If you love someone, you are willing to invest your time, money, resources, and energy to support and care for them. Similarly, if they love you, they will reciprocate those gestures.
Love is forgiving. When someone loves you, they will be able to forgive your mistakes. They will also take responsibility for their own errors and offer sincere apologies when needed.
Shalom🤎
