LOVE LANGUAGE

Some people argue that they do not have a love language, but I believe that is far from the truth. There is always something—be it an action, a deed, service, or a word from someone—that resonates with you and allows you to feel love on a deeper level. Furthermore, my belief is bolstered by the understanding that we are all made in the image and likeness of God, as stated in Genesis 1:27. And guess what? God Almighty has a love language.

Yes, He does. How do I know? Jesus Christ Himself revealed it in the Scriptures. God is pleased when you read the Bible, pray, worship, give to the needy, fast, and engage in all kinds of good deeds.

However, there is one thing that touches God's heart on a deeper level. Let me share what it is.

God's love language is expressed in John 14:15, John 14:21, John 14:23, and 1 John 5:3.

Let's consider these Scriptures detailedly:

John 14:15: "If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments."

John 14:21: "The person who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me."

John 14:23: "Jesus answered, 'If anyone [really] loves Me, he will keep My word (teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling place with him.'"

1 John 5:3: "For the [true] love of God is this: that we habitually keep His commandments and remain focused on His precepts. And His commandments and His precepts are not difficult [to obey]."

What is God's express love language as revealed in these Scriptures? OBEDIENCE TO HIS COMMANDMENTS.

Prophet Samuel reinforces this truth in 1 Samuel 15:22: "Samuel said, 'Has the LORD as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obedience to the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.'"

One can engage in activities like reading the Bible, praying, fasting, attending Church services, serving in the Church, giving tithes and offerings, and helping the poor. Yet, if you are not obedient to God's COMMANDMENTS, you are not speaking His love language, and He does not recognize your love for Him. (Selective obedience is zero obedience—we must understand this.)

This is why I firmly believe that everyone has a love language. It could be kindness, encouragement, support, affection, respect, honor, care, kind words, compassion, giving, obedience and more. Until you speak this language, they may never fully appreciate your actions or interpret them as expressions of love.

Now that you are aware of this, what should your next step be?

If you are a child of God who genuinely loves Him, ensure that God receives your love by speaking His love language of total obedience to His commandments. Open your Bible and read daily to familiarize yourself with His teachings and commands. Remember, God has given you His Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth, so you must also be obedient to the Holy Spirit and heed His instructions.

Receive grace to do this in Jesus' Name.

If you have not yet become a child of God by genuinely turning away from sinful living and embracing the righteous life that Christ Jesus died to offer you, understand that merely attending Church every Sunday and reading your Bible is not enough. The only way God recognizes your love for Him is through obedience—obedience to His call for repentance and salvation from sin, and adherence to His righteous commands.

Surrender completely to Jesus today and begin to live a new life of truth and righteousness—where you are speaking God's love language and enjoying the blessings that come with it.

Shalom.
