If by not being careful enough you married the wrong person, there is still hope for a sweet marriage.
But it starts with you. Reconnect back to God in genuine repentance or plead for God's mercy if you rejected His counsel on who to marry or totally ignored Him.
Then, start showing your spouse a sacrificial and unconditional kind of love. Start fulfilling your part to submit and honor your husband as a wife or to love and nourish your wife as a husband.
Keep doing this, in addition to constant prayers for him or her, and most importantly, live a true godly life as a child of God. Sooner than later, as you remain consistent, kind and loving, you'll see the change you desire to see in your spouse and get to have and enjoy a sweet marriage.
How do I know this? It has worked for several couples and homes because God's Word cannot be broken. It counsels thus: "And now let me speak to the wives. Be devoted to your own husbands, so that even if some of them do not obey the Word of God, your kind conduct may win them over without you saying a thing. For when they observe your pure, godly life before God, it will impact them deeply." 1 Peter 3:1-2
Message Translation says, "The same goes for you wives: Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition... Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in." 1 Peter 3:1-4
1 Peter 3:7 (TPT) says, "Husbands, you in turn must treat your wives with tenderness, viewing them as feminine partners who deserve to be honored, for they are co-heirs with you of the “divine grace of life,” so that nothing will hinder your prayers."
You have been doing it your own way without success and your marriage is not healing. Why not try God's Word? It never fails. It only requires faith and patience. Settle with God.
Heed God's Word and enjoy a sweet marriage.
Shalom🤎
